E3 2017: 22 Jaw-Dropping Video Game Reveals You Need To Know About

5. Anthem

Oh, so THAT's where all of Mass Effect Andromeda's budget went...

Literally, after reading Kotaku's expose on Andromeda's rather troubled development, many of Bioware's employees were actually taken off the project years ago, only to be put on what was codenamed in-house as 'Dylan'. We now know that game is Anthem; a fantastic blend of Horizon Zero Dawn-esque animal-machine hybrids, Titanfall-looking exo-suits and tons of Mass Effect 2/3-inspired class-based combat.

In short, one hell of a mix, and the lengthy demo really showed off how seamlessly you can go from flying around up-high to boosting through underwater caverns in an instant.

Anthem isn't on shelves until 2018, but as a game that really turned heads, this was a showstopper.
