E3 2018: 10 Things That Must Happen At Sony's Conference
There's never this much rumour-smoke without fire...
Sony is easily tied with Nintendo for the most hyped up presentation of this year, and that's with us knowing a lot of the content that will be in it.
This year Sony have decided to go a different route with E3. Rather than keeping the first party contents of their presentation a surprise, Sony have already told us what they'll be doing and only leaving the third party stuff a secret.
Although this makes it seem like there won't be any surprises at their conference, the things that might show up are still pretty open-ended.
We know that Sony will be showing off four of their biggest first-party games with The Last Of Us, Death Stranding, Spider-Man and Ghost of Tsushima, but we still don't really know what exactly they'll show off. It could be a full gameplay reveal but it could also just be a story trailer.
The third-party opportunities are where it really gets exciting for Sony. We don't know a single thing that is supposed to appear at their conference, and we can only judge based on the rumours.
With Sony either being the best or the worst conference depending on who you ask, they need to bring the big guns this year and really make their games look exciting.
10. Dreams Beta & Release Date
A release date for Dreams is long overdue.
Considering the game was first shown off way back in 2013, it's actually kind of incredible that it's managed to avoid giving a release date that long.
It doesn't help that Dreams is such an abstract sort of game that it's incredibly difficult to market it. How do you sell a game that is mostly based on creating your own stuff? That's something that Media Molecule have to figure out, and showing it at E3 is surely the best way of doing so.
Dreams was also supposed to have a beta happen this year, but word on that has also been pretty silent. Although it seems pretty unlikely to expect Dreams to come out this year, Sony and MM definitely need to put out the beta and let players see what the game is all about for themselves.
With interest in the project slowly going down with a lack of information, Dreams really needs to have one final push at this E3 to revitalise it.
