E3 2018: 15 Best Moments

6. Death Stranding Stuns & Confuses In Equal Measure

No game at E3 confounded and polarised people quite as much as Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding, which unleashed another mysterious, gorgeous trailer during Sony's presser, along with the first glimpse of actual gameplay.

Some took umbrage with the fact that, two years after its initial reveal, we still don't know what the game is about, while others were blown away by the incredible environmental visuals achieved by Horizon Zero Dawn's Decima engine.

The trailer also introduced the female lead, played by Spectre's Lea Seydoux, as well as a supporting character played by veteran character actress Lindsay Wagner, and indicated that the game would be focused heavily on stealth, with combat taking a back seat.

It was as deliciously weird as you'd both hope for and expect from Kojima, and though we're presumably still a long way off from being able to play the game - mid-2019, maybe? - it's shaping up to as ambitious and intoxicatingly bizarre as anything the industry titan has ever made.
