E3 2018: 15 Best Moments
9. Bethesda Makes A Convincing Case For Fallout 76
After revealing Fallout 76 in the week leading up to E3, Bethesda took a deep dive into the game during their conference, finally confirming exactly what the game is, what you can do and when it's out.
The 25-minute showcase revealed Fallout 76 to be the first ever online multiplayer Fallout game, and though it can be played solo, clearly the hope is that you'll squad up with pals or randoms and tackle the world in a group.
Whether you're building bases with pals, slaying colossal enemies or partaking in some PVP against a rival gang, the goal is to make the Fallout world feel even more vibrant and alive than ever before.
Bethesda's Todd Howard would later confirm a few questions left unanswered by the conference reveal itself: the game will reportedly have a "real-time" V.A.T.S. system rather than the traditional slow-motion one, and mod support will be patched in post-launch (though in what capacity remains to be seen).
The insanely ambitious title lands on November 14 and an open beta is in the works before then, so everyone will get a chance to see if this bold undertaking is for them or not.
There's definitely potential for all this ambition to blow up in their faces, but the extended showcase was nevertheless pretty damn convincing at selling the game.
