E3 2018: Every High-Profile Video Game Confirmed So Far
8. Battlefield V
Switching places with Call of Duty in the "who announces first" stakes after the two just got done trading World War 1 for World War II settings (across Battlefield 1 and COD: WWII, respectively), Battlefield V is reportedly sticking with the old school, but venturing to World War II.
It'll mark the first time a Battlefield game has visited this time period since Battlefield: 1943, but outside that we know very little. Hell, in terms of what's officially announced, Battlefield V is real and will be at E3, but that's it.
Note: Battlefield V will have a worldwide reveal on May 23rd, hosted by Trevor Noah.
What'll certainly be interesting later in the year is whether a premiere World War shooter can outsell or outpace one focused on the future. Black Ops 4 (which I'll get to in a bit) is sticking with the same sci-fi setting as the likes of Black Ops 2 and 3, so the outcome of who wins will likely dictate which shooters get greenlit and released in the coming years.
