The Banjo-Kazooie series was a shining milestone of the peak N64 days. Then Rare took the bear and bird combo with them when they exited over to Microsoft - where they ran that franchise into the ground in the name of Xbox.
The pair have since been a long in-demand addition to Smash Bros - but something of a fanboy fever dream due to rights issues. Luckily, Nintendo and Microsoft are best buddies nowadays so it finally happened.
The news launched with a brilliant (and troll heavy) trailer where Donkey Kong and co see the silhouette of what distinctly looks like Banjo and Kazooie – only for us to be trolled that its that really annoying dog from Duck Hunt!
Thankfully a big furry foot to the hound's grill rid us of him and the showcased that the Rare characters were finally back with Nintendo.
