Leaks are business as usual for the weeks leading up to E3; last years Walmart Canada's fiasco was certainly telling of that. Yet, this year the extent was so extreme that there was barely an announcement, big or small, that surprised us (asides from you Nintendo, well done!).
The extent of most leaks were so detailed and specific, it certainly stole from the oomph factor of most things being announced; Watch Dogs: Legion's ambitious and inventive gameplay or GRR Martin and Miyazaki making a souls-like with Elden Rings, or even that Borderlands 2 is getting DLC 8 years after the fact.
Not many surprises survived the spoils of the internet - and that (along with the high number of cinematic trailers over actual gameplay), made this E3 feel less the special annual event that we wait with bated breath, and more just like another bi-monthly showcase.
