Nintendo finally dropped gameplay footage of Animal Crossing: New Horizons during their livestream, and though the game certainly looks terrific, the trailer was accompanied by the news that the game is being delayed all the way to March 20, 2020.

The Switch debut for the franchise appears to take place on a deserted island, courtesy of a "Nook Inc. Deserted Island Getaway Package", while otherwise offering up the cute visuals and addictive gameplay every fan expects from the franchise.

The delay is hugely disappointing, though, given that it was previously dated to drop later this year, and it's clear this thing has been cooking for a while.

On the other hand, with the game set to release in the same month as Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Watch Dogs: Legion, March 2020 sure is looking stacked.
