Whilst Battlefield 2042 was exciting enough as is, the announcement of Battlefield Portal - a mode in 2042 where you can make extraordinary custom matches - ramps the excitement up to unheard-of levels.

Custom matches are usually not enough to be exciting as a lot of FPS's have them. What makes Battlefield Portal so exciting is firstly the vast number of possibilities and secondly the fact that you can mix and match assets from Battlefield 2042, Battlefield 1942, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and Battlefield 3.

It's essentially the equivalent of playing with all of your toys at once.

It opens up the possibility of creating a myriad of crazy scenarios, and if you don't want to spend the time making your own custom match then you'll be able to join other custom games made both by other players and EA themselves.

Also, if you're really lonely and hate people then the mode lets you play with bots. Yay.

Battlefield Portal will launch alongside the new game Battlefield 2042 on October 22nd for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
