EA Sports UFC Roster: 15 Most Shocking Fighter Omissions

4. Raphael Assunção

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjZKFABpWYs The last man to beat the newly crowned bantamweight champion (albeit by a split-decision) Assunção is one of the toughest contenders in the UFC€™s 135-lb division yet is inexplicably absent from the game. Assunção€™s talent as a fighter is by no means a secret €“ indeed he is ranked as the third best fighter in the division by the UFC yet has not made the cut for the game. Assunção may well have been champion now if it weren€™t for an injury; it€™s widely believed that the Brazilian would have been offered the title shot over T.J. Dillashaw had it not been for a fractured rib sustained at UFC 170. Assunção is about as technical as they come and is one of the best pure athletes in the division. Ridiculously fast and powerful, the Brazilian fighter combines excellent striking skills with his world-class Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ground game. With 10 of his 22 professional wins coming by various different submission, you really don€™t want to be on the mat with Assunção. His strong black belt in BJJ means that he is always thinking five steps ahead and is able to catch even skilled grapplers in chokes with ease.
