EA Sports UFC Roster: 15 Most Shocking Fighter Omissions
3. Tyron Woodley
Yet another welterweight to have been snubbed by EA, the exclusion of this 170-lb warrior is probably the most shocking in this division. It would be an understatement to say that it is a huge surprise that Tyron Woodley (13-2) currently ranked by the UFC as their third best welterweight is a no-show in the games roster of 15-playable 170-pounders. TWood will face Rory Macdonald in just over two weeks at UFC 174 with the winner being touted to be the first ever challenger for Johny Hendricks welterweight gold. Tyron came into ascendency in the Strikeforce promotion where he savaged their 170-lbs division before faltering to then-champion Nate Marquardt. In his recent fights Woodley has built on his amateur wrestling base with his striking flourishing under the tutelage of American Top Team, with a particularly heavy right hand and devastating leg kicks. TWood delivered a KO felt by everyone watching to former title-contender Josh Koscheck before most recently dominating the incredibly dangerous Carlos Condit until a knee injury sustained by The Natural Born Killer forced the fight to finish. With the likes of Martin Kampmann, Pascal Kraus and Tarec Saffadine featured on the game, it is hard to believe that EA couldnt find room for Woodley. The #3 welterweight hasnt even burst onto the scene recently UFC fans have known what Woodley could do since the Strikeforce days.
