12. Just Cause 4

Leaking way ahead of time thanks to a sizeable Walmart store listing before the show, we knew Just Cause was going to be at E3.

Thankfully, unlike Splinter Cell *sniff*, this held true, and JC4 saw Avalanche demo some phenomenally fun-looking, anarchic tech. Series staples like plane-surfing, blowing the living crap out of entire facilities and parasailing across luscious environments are back, but the main new feature is storms.

We saw Rico take part in combat whilst flying inside a tornado, as you do, and the game is finally overhauling the physics models and sense of movement that's occasionally felt a little too weightless in the past.

It seems strange for a fourth instalment to be the best one and/or a fresh start, but hey, Sniper Elite 4 absolutely nailed it, and it could be the case here too.
