Every Major E3 2018 Video Game Coming This Year
10. Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate
Release Date: Aug. 28th
It might look like a major admonition that the Switch "can't handle" the bigger titles of the world (though check out DOOM to counter that immediately), but the Monster Hunter that's coming out isn't MH: World, but an up-rez of the 3DS release, Generations.
Now, thankfully Generations was the best entry in the franchise until World blew us all away, and Capcom have put the time into rendering an all-new graphics engine to really make everything pop. Cut it any way you like, this is Monster Hunter coming to Switch with a peer-to-peer co-op campaign and drop-in/drop-out multiplayer.
If you're new to the series it's all about hunting the biggest creatures you can find, only to turn their carcasses and parts into better armour and weapons - to then hunt the next target.
Generations' biggest boon was a series of quickfire special animations and class-based attacks - two things that factored into a campaign of enjoyable bosses and addictive-as-hell loot-grinding.
