See, not only did Yacht Club deliver with immense satisfaction their 2014 SNES throwback platformer Shovel Knight, but what feels like all the game's profits have been fed into ongoing expansions. We've seen Plague Knight and Spectre Knight get their own surprisingly moving story packs (for free, I might add), but in 2019, Yacht Club are rounding the package out with a Super Smash Bros.-style multiplayer mode and ANOTHER story prequel, this time centred on King Knight.

The whole endeavour has resulted in various delays from the devs, but King Knight's expansion feels like a whole new game. 30 new levels pepper the campaign alongside a card collecting minigame that's very reminiscent of Final Fantasy VIII's legendary Triple Triad. King Knight himself has a mid-air shoulder barge to get you moving, and at this stage if you like your 2D platformers, you know Yacht Club design some of the most fun and intuitive levels in all of gaming.

Combined, this will make the Shovel Knight Treasure Trove "platform" one hell of a package, and Yacht Club one of the most generous developers on the planet.
