Back in the mid '90s Crash Bandicoot was the red-hot face of Sony's booming PS1 console (when having a mascot actually mattered). So what was the next natural step for such a popular game figure? Blatantly rip-off Mario Kart of course!
The result was Naughty Dog's only foray into the Kart racing genre, and despite its transparent plagiarism of the Nintendo series, Team Racing had enough frantic edge and characteristics (e.g. driving skill is prioritised over power-ups) to define itself from other pretenders.
After The N-Sane Trilogy's massive success, remastering this fan-favourite racer seemed like a no-brainer. It will be slavish to the old-school original though, so expect to be just as challenging as you remember.
