Everything Removed From GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition
3. GTA 3's Ghost Town
Did you know Grand Theft Auto 3 originally included a completely hidden area of the city that's pretty impossible to access via normal gameplay?
Dubbed the 'Ghost Town' this eerily quiet corner of the city appears only in the game's initial cutscene, when Claude is gunned down by Catalina. However, despite only appearing for this scene, this ghost town is rendered and exists still in the game's files.
The only way to actually get to the Ghost Town was by mastering the controls of the ridiculously hard-to-fly Dodo seaplane. If you did get there, you can't actually land as most of the actual environment includes no solid textures whatsoever.
In the Definitive Edition, players were naturally curious to see if it still exists. Unfortunately, it doesn't. The developers have completely removed the environment, and the assets for the opening cutscene now only actually appear in that cutscene before being hidden from view entirely.
