Everything Removed From GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition

12. San Andreas' Fog Revealing How Much Smaller The Map Is

When Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas first released, it felt absolutely massive.

This was true even when you took to the skies in the variety of aircraft in the game; due to a dense layer of fog, you could never see the whole map at once, and the illusion of grand scale was created.

This was, in fact, done purely due to the limitations of the PS2 hardware at the time, but as the Definitive Edition has revealed, it was really hiding how things are actually smaller than they seem.

In this new trilogy, the fog which previously blanketed the map has been completely removed, meaning it just doesn't look anywhere near as impressive as it used to.

What was once blowing our minds back in the day now simply looks tame in comparison to what we're used to nowadays. Perhaps a bit of stylistic fog for old time's sake wouldn't have went amiss?
