Everything We Know About 2018's Most Mysterious Video Games

5. Pokémon Switch (Working Title)

Since the days of the Nintendo 64, Pokéfans have been crying out for a bonafide Pokémon RPG on consoles and now, it's finally happening. Ultra Sun & Moon will be the final series entries to call the 3DS home, a decision, says Game Freak, stems from the handheld hardware being pushed to its absolute limits.

So that being the case, what are we to expect from Pokémon Switch? Details are thin, but the original rumors - that the game would be a port of Sun & Moon called Pokémon Stars - looks less likely.

The point of the system transfer is, after all, to enable the dev to deliver a Pokémon RPG the likes of which we've never seen before. We shouldn't expect every battle to play out like a high-octane match of Pokken Tournament - it's still going to be an RPG - but expect a drastic improvement in visual fidelity and scope, especially where multiplayer is concerned.

Pokémon CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara hinted to Bloomberg that peer-to-peer gameplay will play a much bigger role in Pocket Monsters' Switch debut, so don't be surprised to see some such components creep in.

A co-op Pokémon adventure, perhaps? Yes, please.
