Everything We Know About 2018's Most Mysterious Video Games
6. Anthem
Everyone wants a slice of the Destiny pie, it seems. To varying degrees of success, Ubisoft made its own attempt to cash in on the popularity of Bungie's genre-melding shooter with The Division; now EA and BioWare are aiming to take a crack at it with their own vision: Anthem.
For a triple-A game that's slated for launch no later than autumn next year, there's little we actually know about the first game to come from BioWare's so-called A-team since Dragon Age: Inquisition.
The spectacular reveal trailer shown at Microsoft's E3 presser painted the picture of an always-online loot shooter with a fondness for futuristic, fully customizable exosuits called Javelins, but what kind of activities exist out there, in the lush wilds of Anthem's gorgeous world?
BioWare's keeping schtum, for now, but that hasn't stopped eagle-eyed onlookers from hazarding a few guesses.
None of these are confirmed, of course, but it's hard to believe they denote anything else, especially the skull crest, which, incidentally, is the same method Bungie uses to signpost a raid activity.
Only BioWare can provide the undeniable facts, but the wait shouldn't be too excruciating - Anthem's game director confirmed but a few weeks ago that a beta will precede its release. Bring on 2018!
