Fallout: 10 Reasons New Vegas Is The Best One

1. Meaningful Choices

Choices in games are important. And getting player choice right is even more important. Most of the time, meaningful choices in games amount to which ending you want to see first. They very rarely impact game-play or even the story. Which makes role-playing games, games in which you are meant to be interacting with the world, a lot less weighty.

New Vegas get's it right. Your choices actively gate content, annoy factions, restrict areas and so much more. Everything you do has the chance of impacting the world. You can make it more difficult, or easier for yourself. You can play the diplomat, or the gun-toting hillbilly hell bent on shooting anyone who tells you what to do.

Those small choices you make have ripple effects throughout the world. And your choices about how to ally yourself and how you recruit supporters makes all the difference. It is a game where you are actively changing the world. You are the centre of the world because you are forcing the world to centre around you. You aren't the second coming of Christ. You're a very determined mailman who wants to do what he wants.

I like video games, writing and writing about video games. Expect sarcasm and the dry wit of a Brit. And the occasional rant of a unhappy Scot. You know... the usual.
