Fallout 4: 10 Locations That Could Be The Next New Vegas

10. Mexico

Yes, most Fallout fans will quickly shoot this location down by claiming that part of what makes the series great is its combination of distinctly 50s American cultural norms with a brutal post-apocalyptic setting. It's fair to say that taking things over the border to Mexico wouldn't offer us that sense of familiarity, but maybe it's about time we had a cultural shake-up? Mexico has its fair share of history in the Fallout canon, having been invaded by America during the Resource Wars, and with Mexico City bombed to kingdom come in the Great War. So things don't look too good down there either, and setting the next Fallout in the Chihuahua border regions would offer up a nice melting pot of Americans, Mexicans and mutants. At the northernmost point of the map, we could have the traditionally rowdy border town of El Paso, with the map extending all the way down to the Mexican city of Chihuahua (granted, it'd need to be compressed from the 200 or so miles between the two cities). The distinctive architecture of Mexican towns - with their colour palettes ranging from white to sandy, Catholic churches and other European influences - would be great to see, and the inevitable tensions between Mexicans and Americans over the events leading up to the Great War would present plenty of narrative opportunities. We could also hook with Raul the Ghoul again in his homeland, and take him on as a companion again for some Mexico-based adventures. There's even a ready-made villain faction for a Fallout: Chihuahua (the title needs work), as Mexico was home to a subsidiary of the shady Poseidon Oil, Petro-Chico. Perhaps we could even get a sniff of the drug trade (pun intended) in a Fallout: Mexico - which would also give intriguing indications of what's been going on in South America since the Great War.
