Fallout 4: 10 New Details We Learned From The Leaked Footage

9. Loading Screens Still Exist

There was plenty of talk and hopeful speculation about what Bethesda would do about loading screens between buildings and the open world. The Fallout series was notorious for them, although they were much more acceptable back then than today. The more demanding segments of the gaming community have been hoping to see a more seamless Fallout 4. Unfortunately, that won't be the case. Not entirely anyway. Entering big buildings and other significant areas will still involve a loading screen, though it's a good sign that no user reported anything about loading times, suggesting that they're not notably long. We've already seen from the official gameplay footage of Fallout 4 that many small buildings can be entered seamlessly, and cheeky gameplay leakers have confirmed that they too have been going into plenty of small-mid-sized buildings with no load screen whatsoever. One gameplay video of Fallout 4 on the Xbox One showed the game taking 20 seconds to reload after the player died. But with games like Bloodborne and The Witcher 3 having had much worse death load times upon release, maybe this is just becoming a staple feature of AAA games?
