Fallout 4: 12 Disturbing Stories & Locations You Totally Missed
8. The New Squirrel Bed-Time Story
While exploring Fiddler's Green Trailer Estates far west of the map you should come across three holotapes chronicling a series of "New Squirrel" stories thought up by a character only known as Storytime Simon.
Although these holotapes start off unassumingly enough, setting up a children's parable between two squirrels, it becomes increasingly dark as the story clearly reflects a rather traumatic event from Simon's life in the Boston Commonwealth. The tale chronicles a brown squirrel who takes in a red squirrel despite the judgements of others in the community. Deciding that you can't shun an animal just because they belong to another group, the red squirrel is taken into the community as one of their own.
For the first two parts of this story, the budding friendship between the two squirrels, seems like a heartwarming tale of friends living together in harmony. Of course, this is Fallout, and nothing happy ever lasts in the Wasteland. By the time you pop in the third and final part of the squirrel epic, Simon reveals the twist ending and moral to the story. Instead of appreciating the hospitality, the red squirrel turns on those who took him in, ripping apart the brown squirrel and all of his friends and family.
Don't quote me on this, but I don't think this story is about squirrels, is it, Simon?
