Fallout 4: 7 More Disturbing Stories & Locations You Totally Missed
4. The Skeleton's Buried Beneath Big John's Salvage
Big John's Salvage is one of the most dangerous hideouts you can find in Fallout 4. Brimming with super mutants, the former salvage yard provides whoever occupies it with an excellent defensible position, but the sheer amount of hidden loot crates makes storming the location a major victory if you manage to clear out all of the enemies inside.
But there's also a tragic tale to find if you look hard enough. As you make your way around the hideout it becomes clear that the super mutants weren't the original occupiers of the settlement, and the original lodgers, a human family, retreated to a hidden underground bomb shelter when the war began over two hundred years ago.
And if you find the device that opens the shelter, you'll discover the skeletons of two parents embracing each other on a nearby mattress, spending their final moments together while they wasted away.
However, to make the story even darker, if you look a few feet away from the mattress you'll see two small mounds of dirt with a teddy bear resting on top of one, a baseball glove on the other and a shovel hammered into the ground next to them.
Not only did the parents die a drawn out death in the bunker, but at some point before they ran out of food they were forced to bury their children too.
