5. A Tale Of Two Sisters
One of the earliest quests in Fallout 4 has you leading the charge to take out a raider leader known as Tower Tom. While it's pretty straight forward, if you do a bit of digging on his personal computer you can find out that one of the first nefarious things Tom did during his tenure as the leader of the camp was to kidnap Lily, a rival gang member.
Digging further it turns out that Lily was the sister of the rival gang's leader, Red, and was kidnapped in order to extort the enemy camp for resources and supplies. To keep the deal sweet, Tom let Lily keep in contact with Red, who sent her letters over his personal terminal.
However at some point Tom accidentally ended up killing Lily in a fit of rage and, not wanting to lose the sweet deal he had set up, went about impersonating her in order to keep Red from flipping out.
The story seemingly ends there, however if the player finds the Federal Ration Stockpile in the south of the map they'll actually stumble upon Red's group, who attack the Sole Survivor on sight.
Once you're done killing everyone in the building however, you'll be able to find Red's terminal, who documents her suspicions that the letters from "Lily" were in fact being faked. Unfortunately she could never accept it, and out of desperation continued to send out soldiers to track down her sister long after she had been killed.
