FIFA 14: 5 Real-Life Footballing Incidents We Want Adding

3. Goal-Line Controversies

Goalline Goal-line controversies is a subject that has been debated by football fans in pubs up and down the country ever since 1966 when England beat West Germany 4-2 in the World Cup Final. The Three Lion's third goal has been a bone of contention for decades - did Geoff Hurst's shot cross the line after bouncing back down off the crossbar? Some say yes, others nay. And issues like this need to be in the FIFA series, especially given the advent of goal-line technology. I want to be arguing with a friend over whether or not their shot crossed the line, and then check the instant replays to find out. Interestingly, FIFA 13 had a "No Goal For You!" Trophy that was awarded to the player after clearing the ball off the goal-line. And it would be a good touch if EA experimented with whether the ball did or did not cross the line in some way.
