2. There's A Petition To Add Women Players To The Series

The idea that football is a game for men is an archaic principle. Recently, the England Women's team showed they're just as good as us men by dismantling Turkey 8-0 in a World Cup qualifier. Throughout the FIFA series' long run, though, no woman or women's football team have ever featured in the franchise. That, however, could be about to change, because earlier this year, Spanish professional women's footballer Vero Boquete
started a campaign on Change.org calling upon EA to introduce female players to the series. The petition garnered 20,000 signatures in the first 24 hours. EA are always adding new countries and leagues to their series - the Belgian First Division and the Portuguese Liga didn't appear in the franchise until 1999, for example. Meanwhile, the top leagues from Argentina, Chile and Colombia weren't introduced until this year's version of the game. It could be then that we'll be seeing women's football teams and competitions added in the future.
