FIFA 14 Review: 7 Ways EA Sports Have Won The Football War (Again)

2. Presentation

It's an EA Sports title, so it was hardly ever going to be anything less than slick. The menus are smart and easily navigable, making it pleasantly quick to get into actually playing a game without too many boundaries, which sometimes felt like a secondary concern over aesthetics in those pages in past iterations. And once you're in the game, the slickness shines through hugely, the pre-game animations are great, and EA Sports are definitely celebrating the ceremony of games in a matter befitting the expectations of the fans. We're here for the beautiful game, and the developers have done their best to ensure that it is exactly that, following on from the massive improvement that came in with FIFA 13. One big plus is the addition of the legend that is Jeff Stelling to the matchday experience, which is as smart a move as EA Sports have made in years. Graphics are about as good as can be reasonably expected from this generation of consoles: until the next generation, we won't see a dramatic jump in quality, and likenesses are typically strong, though again, necessarily limited by the technology. Overall, it's another resounding success for the team behind the game's presentation.
