3. FIFA Has A Better Career Mode
Now one of the few areas where PES does stand head and shoulders above FIFA is with their Uefa Champions and Europa League game modes. I am always sick and tired of heading into career mode with Chelsea or Manchester United on FIFA, and getting into Europe, only to have to contest the "Champions Cup" - which is of course an ill-parody of the Champions League. When it comes to authenticity, PES wins here, considering they hold the licence to bring gamers European football's top club competition in all its glory. But, as far as career mode goes, that's where PES loses their edge. FIFA's career mode is so much more three-dimensional and has so much more depth to it, with a multitude of capabilities. You can play in the Championship, for example, with officially licensed teams, as well as League One and League Two, again lending the title a more realistic feel. EA also encourage their fans to stick around longer with career mode, by allowing the player to manage a team as a coach, or as a player, and also allowing them to "Be a Pro" - similar in style to Konami's "Be a Legend" mode. The simple fact of the matter is that there is so much more to see and do in FIFA'S career mode, be it trying to settle a player dispute, wrangling over contracts, agitating a rival manager ahead of kick-off - it just all feels so much more authentic.
