FIFA 15: 10 Players Who Need Downgrading After World Cup

1. Iker Casillas €“ 86

Casillas may have been the last level of defence for the Spanish side which was the undisputed ruler of world football for so many years but in the 2014 World Cup he was woeful. The aging remnants of the so-called Golden Generation of Spanish football capitulated in Brazil, performing so badly against Chile and the Netherlands that many were surprised when they beat Australia. Though there were very few Spanish squad members who performed well, much of the blame for the humiliating 5-1 loss in the opening game against the Netherlands rests with Casillas. Four of the seven goals he conceded in Brazil were down to errors from the legendary Los Blancos keeper. His dreadful decision making and poor reactions made an already bad Spanish side worse. Casillas is no longer the number one goalkeeper for Real Madrid yet is still rated as being the joint best man on the line in FIFA 14 alongside Manuel Neuer (without TOTS/TOTW updates). The man who deservedly won the Golden Glove for his defence of the German box looked incredibly hard to beat while Casillas seemed to let in shot after shot. In the 2010 World Cup Casillas played in 7 games and let in just 2 goals while in the tournament we just witnessed he played in 2 and let in 7 €“ this coincidental mirror reversal shows how much the career of Casillas has dwindled.
