FIFA 14 Rating - 83 O Captain! My Captain! Chelsea's indomitable leader got a solid boost between FIFAs 13 and 14, reflecting his renewed confidence following the return of his friend and mentor, Jose Mourinho. Under the instruction of the Portuguese maestro, Terry quickly recovered his best form and became the lynchpin of Chelsea's defence once more, organising those around him into a tight, disciplined unit. 83 feels about right for a player still playing at an extremely high level, but advancing in age and becoming increasingly vulnerable to injuries and being overplayed. Statistically, Terry's excellent numbers in all the defensive positions and mediocre ones for more or less everything else should remain steady. He's a man with a singular purpose and achieves it with aplomb, so it hasn't been too hard for FIFA's researchers to know where to focus their attention. Once again his positioning stat is ridiculous, coming in at 38 (!) when he's one of the most capable players in the world at knowing where to be at the right time, in part thanks to his lack of pace. Unless EA think of that stat very differently to how I do, it should be in the mid-80s at least. Otherwise, Terry's about right, though to compensate for raising his positioning, his stamina stat (67) could be taken down to a flat 60 and his agility (44) lowered even further.
