FIFA 15 Ultimate Team: 10 Legends Who Were Criminally Overlooked

8. Ryan Giggs

Suggested Rating €“ 90 The fact that a 40-year-old Ryan Giggs was not only competing against men half his age until last season but in most cases outperformed them is a testament to what a phenomenal talent the Welshman was. Having retired at the end of last season, EA Sports should have immediately created a Legend version of one of United€™s greatest players of all-time to remind people just how dominant Giggs was in his heyday along the left wing. Giggs' supreme passing ability meant that in his later years he could be utilised in a deeper playmaking role but during his athletic peak in the 1990s and early 2000s he was United€™s most devastating winger. After his first appearances for the club in the 1990/91 season, Giggs€™ tireless work rate, dazzling dribbling and playmaking meant that he quickly became a fan favourite. 24 years later and Giggs not only smashed the club€™s record for most competitive appearances but also generated more assists than any player in the history of the Premier League with 271. His ability to get the best out of United€™s strikers was a huge reason why the club won so many trophies and titles during the quarter-century in which Giggs was signed with them. United fans are surely overjoyed that the Welshman€™s influence at the club continues as he assists new manager Louis van Gaal, though virtually every fan of English football would love to see Giggs honoured as a Legend on FIFA.
