Nevertheless, Karim Benzema is a poacher, playing in one of the best teams in the world, surrounded by the likes of Ronaldo, Bale, James Rodriguez, and Modric all feeding him the ball in a league where there are really only 3 big teams and everyone else is there to be crushed. 

His record at Lyon was decent too, with a goal every other game, but again, he was surrounded by very good players, and playing in a weak league.

If a move to Liverpool or Arsenal transpires, he wouldn't score nearly so many goals. 10-12 a season perhaps? His work rate just isn't high enough to cut it in the Premier League, and he will quickly be exposed as less than world-class.

Regardless of how many goals he has scored at Madrid, his rating should be brought down to more accurately reflect his talents.
