Sure, Van Persie is all class. Sure, he scored that wonder header at the world cup just last summer. Sure, he's been injured a lot, and sure, on his day, he's a fantastic goal-scored.

Unfortunately, it's not been his day for quite a while now. Injuries take their toll, and the flying Dutchman turns 32 before the new season starts. He's getting older, he's slowing down, and he's not able to get himself in the right positions to score goals as often as he'd like, or needs to nowadays.

13 goals isn't a bad return from 36 games, but 3 of those goals were for Holland. He's simply not done the job for Manchester United, and his 88 rating has been too high for a few seasons now.

There's talk of him going to Real Madrid next season, which seems like a strange move for someone who is not only not getting any better, but is definitely getting worse.

Robin Van Persie Recommended Rating: 82
