Philipp Lahm has dipped into World XIs, European XIs, tournament select teams and domestic team of the year squads for years, and even at the age of 31, he shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon. While he's been shuffled around from right back to left back to anchorman to the centre of midfield, he earns the fullback slot in this team. The German icon is a consistent performer and is synonymous with Bayern Munich, winning everything possible with them over the last decade. While his straight-line speed may be marginally slower, he's still an outstanding, intelligent fullback who can rely on far more than sheer speed to quell an onslaught from attackers.
