Ashley Cole was long renowned as the greatest left back in the world, though now that he is blending into obscurity, there feels like a large void to fill in that position. There are several worthy candidates though the best could well be Bayern Munich man David Alaba. The versatile Austrian had last season cut short by injuries, but he's turning a lot of heads with his style, confidence, pace, and age. At just 22 he's only going to get better, but even now he's quite possibly the best left back in a world lacking truly great fullbacks at the moment. Suggested Rating: 85
