FIFA 17 Rating - 79

Despite reinforcing his reputation as one of the most potent attackers in the Premier League last season, scoring 15 goals in all competitions for former employers Southampton, the reward of a significantly improved overall rating to illustrate the strides made in his development was not forthcoming for Mane, with even a switch to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool not helping his cause.

It’s impossible to dispute that Mane performed well above his questionable 79-rating and many will argue that the Senegal international should at least be on par with Anfield team-mate Adam Lallana, a fine player in his own right but who seldom played to the level of an 82-rated midfielder last season.

Given his blistering start to the current campaign under Klopp, Mane can expect his rating to be significantly adjusted in the winter update.
