FIFA 17: 15 Real Madrid Player Ratings Leaked
11. Keylor Navas: 83
It's not often that Real Madrid are caught with their pants down in a transfer window. So when a clerical error involving a fax machine failed their long-winded move for David De Gea, Manchester United supporters could not hide their mirth.
To claim that the La Liga giants had been flirting with De Gea would be akin to saying that Conor McGregor can throw a slap or two. This was more like predatory stalking, their shadow looming over Old Trafford for the better part of 18 months as they hoped to lure the former Atletico goalkeeper back to the city of his birth.
The botched move will have irked Florentino Perez, and one might wonder why they haven't returned for the Spaniard this summer after yet another stellar campaign for the Red Devils. Well, the answer lies between the posts for the Madridistas in the shape of Keylor Navas.
Having excelled for Costa Rica at the 2014 World Cup, the former Levante keeper arrived at Real Madrid that summer as back-up to Iker Casillas but once given his chance last season, he took it with aplomb. With 45 appearances in all competitions, he was a stand-out performer.
With cat-like reflexes and pinpoint distribution, the 29-year-old is one of the most underrated goalkeepers in world football right now. Nobody deserves this upgrade more than him after the ordeal he had to endure during the summer of 2015.
