FIFA 18: 10 Things EA Need To Steal From PES
10. International Football's Unique Atmosphere
Play an international fixture in FIFA 17 and it just feels like every other game. There's nothing special there, and that's a crying shame. Surely taking charge of a country in Career Mode and leading them to World Cup success should feel unique, unlike anything else gamers can do with their created manager.
Outside of Career Mode, the same problems are evident. Even with the addition of women's national teams, FIFA 17 still struggles when it comes to international football. Thankfully, PES is there to pick up the slack and Konami have a great grasp on what makes the national stage different from the club game.
Stadiums just feel grander. Playing international fixtures in PES 2017 feels like watching the World Cup or European Championships. This is made all the worse when realising that EA Sports could have the FIFA license for the former if they wanted. Sort it out, EA, 'World Cup' games in FIFA shouldn't feel the same as Barnsley vs. Fulham.
