Right, Wenger, get the cheque book out because it's time to buy in another central defender or 2. German World Cup winner Shkodran Mustafi is still only 25, so keep him and start thinking about replacing both 32 year olds elsewhere. Laurent Koscielny still has a rating of 84, but it's perhaps time for Per Mertesacker to move on.
Calum Chambers and Rob Holding won't cut it unless you're willing to show some patience, although Chambers has improved from 72 to 75 this year. That's a nice little jump, so maybe some training would turn him into a replacement for Mertesacker, allowing you to sell the older player for a decent price.
Despite his own leap from 67 in FIFA 17 to 72 here, Rob Holding is the least exotic defensive option Arsenal have. A no-nonsense CB signed from Bolton Wanderers, the Englishman could be useful at a stretch after a few seasons, but he'll miss out most often when it comes to Ultimate Team.
