What do you get if you combine a footballer and a brick wall? Virgil Van Dijk.
The Dutchman has single-handedly transformed Liverpool's defence from a nervous wreck, into one of the Premier League's most formidable. You can legit see a massive difference in Liverpool's defense pre-and-post Van Dijk. In the few months prior to Van Dijk arriving at Anfield, the Reds were the second worst team in the league in terms of defensive errors. In the 10 months since, they have conceded far less goals on average, and gone undefeated at home in the league!
Van Dijk is still the world's most expensive defender but no-one even talks about that anymore. He is amongst the very best defenders in world football, and yet his rating is only 85! That puts him a long way behind FIFA's highest rated centre-back, Sergio Ramos at 91. We'd go as far as to call that one a crime.
