FIFA 19: 10 Fan Demands EA Sports Must Include
3. Scenario Mode
Footballing icons like Ronaldo (the Brazilian one), Diego Maradona and Russian Ballon d'Or winner Lev Yashin are all in FIFA 18. Whilst that's great, and playing as them in Ultimate Team is fun for a while, they're woefully under-utilised outside their token status.
Older players will remember the quite excellent history mode in World Cup '98 on PSOne. There, it was possible to play out classic tournament matches as teams like West Germany in 1974 or England in 1966. It felt meaty, involving and gave the game more of an authentic atmosphere.
Some sort of scenario mode in FIFA 19 could, if handled correctly, be a similar highlight.
Imagine playing as Ronaldo in the 2002 World Cup final against Germany, redeeming the smiling Brazil star's reputation four years on from his worst moment. Picture sending Argentinian genius Maradona from the tournament and cancelling out his "Hand Of God" infamy in 1986.
Those are the sorts of things icons are begging for.
