FIFA 19: 11 Players Who Will Be Overrated
5. Luis Suárez
Luis Suárez is a living legend. Rarely can I recall a footballer with the amount of headlines surrounding them as Suárez. Granted, those headlines were not always positive, but Suárez's football career has been a fascinating whirlwind. Whether it was his first biting incident - yes first - 2014 World Cup handball, astounding run with Liverpool in the Premier League, second biting incident, or his transfer to Barcelona, Suárez is as interesting as it gets.
Suárez played 110 games for both Ajax and Liverpool, scoring 81 and 69 goals respectively. That's an unreal turnaround. Since moving to Barcelona, the Uruguayan has played 130 games and scored 110 goals. Those stats are truly other-worldly. Since 2015/2016 though, his goal return has been slowly decreasing and the 2018 World Cup showed that his legs aren't quite what they used to be.
Luis Suárez still has the goal-scoring instinct and he's probably going to have another 20+ goal season for Barcelona this year, but it's clear he's slowing down. It's sad but inevitable. He was overshadowed by Cavani at the World Cup and failed to really impact matches. He's still aces but Suárez should be rated three or four points below his FIFA 18 rating of 92.
