Okay, so this may be something of a controversial opinion given the contentious nature of the implementation of a Video Assistant Referee in real football, but Ultimate Team could really benefit from VAR.
FIFA is meant to serve as an accurate simulation of the beautiful game and as anyone who has watched anything from the World Cup in 2018 onwards, VAR is becoming more and more influential in determining the outcomes of games.
VAR has featured in the Football Manager series since 2018, but perhaps the nature of FIFA will make it more disliked as players pull their hair out with goal after goal being disallowed due to players being just millimetres offside.
VAR wouldn't need to be utilisied quite as frequently as it had been in the Premier League this season prior to suspension, but adding it into FIFA, and especially Ultimae Team could provide some high drama moments, especially in must-win games online.
