FIFA 21: 10 Most Shocking Ratings
8. Thomas Müller
Most of the entries on this list are here because of significant changes in rating, but Thomas Müller's FIFA 21 rating is more notable for a glaring lack of change.
As part of the treble-winning Bayern Munich side, Thomas Müller had something of a late-career resurgence in the 2019-20 season. After many felt his time at the top of the game was beginning to come to a close, Müller produced one of best seasons ever in the red jersey. Breaking the Bundesliga record for the most assists in a season with 21, while also chipping in with eight goals, the two time World Cup Golden Boot winner received widespread acclaim for his contributions to Bayern's success.
One would imagine therefore that after a season like this, Müller would receive a substantial upgrade for his FIFA 21 card. Instead Müller's FIFA 21 card as arguably worse than its predecessor. While the 30-year-old has received a notable passing boost, he is significantly slower this year, which will severely affect his usability.
Overall, it's a huge failing on EA's part that someone who has had a season as good as Müller's has not been rewarded with a proper upgrade, and is somewhat reflective of the lack of upgrades Bayern Munich have received in general.
