Football Manager 2014: 11 Wonderkids You Must Watch Out For

3. Adnan Januzaj - Manchester United

Nationality: English (If Roy has anything to do with it.) Position: AMCRL/MC The New: David Beckham England might apparently be trying their best to convince the Belgian to turn his back on his native land and declare himself available for England, in the hopes of stealing a good prospect to boost their own limited attacking options, but the bigger story is definitely the attacking midfielder's explosive announcement of his ability to the Premier League against Sunderland. Along with Wilifried Zaha, Januzaj is probably Manchester United's biggest prospect at the minute: he signed from Anderlecht back when he was 16 (hence his availability to England) having signed for the Belgian club at the tender age of just 10. He hasn't had much in terms of first team opportunities up until this pre-season, though he did start on the bench in Sir Alex Ferguson's last game in charge, suggesting that Fergie also had big hopes for the attacker. His dribbling ability, and his technical skills are certainly his most appealing assets, as well as his versality, and his set pieces have seen him likened to erstwhile England stalwart David Beckham. In FM 13, his stats weren't exactly eye-catching (as none of Man Utd's kids seem to be for some reason, despite their obvious potential) but we can probably expect a major uplift this year to reflect his closer proximity to a Premier League starting spot. Quite how he will turn out remains as open a question as which country he's likely to play for, but he's certainly a big name to watch early on.
