Football Manager 2014: 11 Wonderkids You Must Watch Out For

10. Anton Mitryushkin - Spartak Moscow

Spartak MoscowNationality: Russian Position: GK The New: Igor Akinfeev For a long time, Igor Akinfeev was the biggest Russian talent available in Football Manager, particularly if you were looking for a goalkeeper to add a strong foundation to your team. The 'keeper is now the Russian number one, having made his international debut a massive nine years ago, and it looks like he may be about to be ousted from his position by another young star with a massive future ahead of him. Anton Mitryushkin of Spartak Moscow caught a lot of eyes at this summer's European Under-17 Championships, where he was captain and where his side emerged as Champions of the tournament. As a mark of his importance to the team, and his instrumental role in some of their victories, he was voted player of the tournament, having conceded only one goal in 400 minutes of open play, and saving three penalties in the final against Italy. His handling and shot-stopping ability are second to none, and he has proved in that tournament at least that he is not adverse to pressure. Combining his considerable stature with impressive agility and a frightening dominance of his area, he will push through into the Russian first team sooner rather than later, and his stats in FM 14 should undoubtedly reflect those of one of the hottest young goalkeepers in the world. Chances are he won't come cheap, or be particularly happy signing for anyone but a top European club, but getting him early will likely mean you have a solid 'keeper you can rely on for the entirety of your in-game career.
