Football Manager 2020: 10 Expected Wonderkids You Must Sign

5. Benoit Badiashile - Monaco

18-year-old centre-back Benoit Badiashile was famously reprimanded by then-Monaco boss Thierry Henry for not tucking his chair away after a Champions League press conference, but this is a young player who is one of the most promising stars in European football.

Despite only signing his first professional contract with Monaco last year, Badiashile made his first-team debut in November and became a vital part of the Monaco senior squad as the reinstated Leonardo Jardim looked to turn around an awful season for the club. Monaco would evade relegation by just a single place, and Badiashile was one of the few positives to come out of an utterly dire season at the Stade Louis II stadium.

At 6’4” and with impressive speed and an eye for a pass, Benoit Badiashile is already being pegged as a future France international, and this summer there have already been rumblings that Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham are eyeing a bid for the youngster.

Given that he’s already started to play senior football for his current club and has interest from one of the Champions League finalists, expect Benoit Badiashile to instantly be labelled a wonderkid once FM2020 is released.
