2. Nico Mantl

Club: RB Salzburg

Nationality: Germany

Price: £9 million

Germany is a nation famed for producing high quality goalkeeping talent, and Nico Mantl seems destined to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Manuel Neuer, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Oliver Khan, Bodo Illgner and Sepp Maier. Well, at least if Football Manager 2022 is to believed.

A little similar to Marco Carnesecchi, Mantl is available for next to nothing when compared to some of the astronomical fees being demanded for other goalkeepers in FM22. £9 million should have RB Salzburg agreeing to give up this star of the future, and you may even be able to buy Nico for a smidge less than that if you catch RB on a good day.

When FM22 starts, Mantl already has a solid base of good stats for a 'keeper, with his age of 21 clearly giving him plenty of scope to grow. That he's got a 17 rating for jumping reach is remarkable for someone so young, and the rest of his key core numbers - 14s for all of reflexes, one on ones, command of area, and aerial reach - make for a top, top player in waiting.
