Football Manager 2022: 10 Signings You Must Make Every Time
1. Chris Wood
Those who have watched, or themselves completed a good number of Premier League playthroughs or sim experiments on Football Manager 2021 will have observed the first season ending with a variety of title winners, different Players of the Season, and unexpected managerial changes, reflecting a true to life, chaotic and sometimes random nature of top level English football.
There is however one constant. Burnley's Chris Wood banging in 20+ goals as top scorer.
Something of a meme at this point, given the less than free scoring nature of Sean Dyche's men, and his real return of an admittedly respectable 12 goals last season, it is yet to be seen if his stats will be toned down for this year's edition, or whether defenders will be better equipped to deal with his aerial ability.
If not, he is the obvious candidate for any decent teams looking for a goal scoring Target Man, and perhaps a useful option off the bench for some truly top sides when it is time to hit the Pump Ball Into Box button whilst desperate for a goal with ten minutes to go.
